Pregnancy Week by Week/Week 37: Preparing for Birth

Week 37: Preparing for Birth
At week 37, your baby is busy practicing essential skills in preparation for birth. They are inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid, blinking, and turning from side to side. Their head continues to grow, and they are steadily gaining weight to get ready for the outside world. Your baby is now about the size of a canary melon.
Your Body During Week 37
As your baby develops, your body is also preparing for labor. You may experience more frequent Braxton Hicks contractions, which are your body's way of rehearsing for the real thing. It's common to notice leaking breasts when stimulated, such as during exercise or intimacy. Some vaginal discharge or spotting may occur, along with lower back pains as your cervix begins to dilate.
Hati Health Tips for Week 37
During this time, it's important to take care of yourself and prepare for your newborn's arrival. Consider getting an exercise ball to help with comfort and labor preparation. Decorating the nursery can be a joyful way to get ready, and planning a baby shower is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this exciting time with loved ones.
Don't forget to schedule your baby's hearing test, an important step in ensuring their health and development after birth. These preparations will help you feel more confident and ready as you approach the final weeks of pregnancy.
