Polio is a highly infectious viral disease that primarily affects children under 5 years old. In severe cases, it can lead to lifelong paralysis or even death. While polio has been eradicated in many countries, the disease still exists in some parts of the world, and the risk of outbreaks remains.
The IPV vaccine is an inactivated vaccine, which means it contains a killed version of the poliovirus. This makes it safe and incapable of causing the disease. IPV is administered via injection given in the leg or the arm, depending on age. It works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against all three types of poliovirus. These antibodies provide protection if an individual is exposed to the live virus in the future.
1. To ensure the best service and vaccine availability, prior booking is required – no walk-ins accepted. Current rates are exclusively for reserved appointments. You may visit your selected branch one business day after your purchase date, upon receipt of your booking confirmation.
Note: Orders placed after 4:00 PM will be processed on the next business day (e.g., For an order placed on Monday 5:00 PM, you may visit your selected clinic as early as Wednesday morning)
2. Upon arrival, you may be asked to fill out a form provided by the clinic or laboratory. Please bring at least one valid ID.
3. When claiming your service, inform the clinic or laboratory staff that you are “endorsed by Hati Health” and provide the full name you used in your purchase.
