• Full bladder is required prior the procedure.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

• For procedures that require full bladder, ask patient if she has cardiac, pulmonary, renal, or any condition that requires fluid restriction.

• If with fluid restriction, consult with the doctor-on-duty for further instructions.

• If without fluid restriction, patient will be asked to drink gradually until she feels the need to void.

Note: Usually, it takes approximately 30 minutes for a patient to have a full bladder after drinking certain amount of water. The Imaging staff is the one to advise the patient since they are in coordination with the Sonologist. This is to avoid dealing with two patients who have full bladder at the same time.

• Bring previous ultrasound result for comparison.
