No patient preparation necessary.
Sputum collection:
- Rinse mouth twice with water before collecting sputum sample.
- Inhale deeply, cough vigorously, and expectorate the material into the container. Avoid spills or soiling the outside of the container.
- Secure the lid on the collection container and then submit the container for checking of sample.
Note: The test is intended for patients who have not yet taken anti-TB medication or have taken it for less than three days in the past six months. if you are currently taking or have previously taken anti-TB medication, consult your doctor to determine whether testing is appropriate. Anti-TB therapy may affect the test results
