The Ionized Calcium Test measures the active, unbound form of calcium in the blood—the type essential for muscle function, nerve signaling, and bone health. Unlike total calcium tests, it provides a more accurate picture of biologically available calcium.
This test is used to assess calcium balance and diagnose conditions such as parathyroid disorders, kidney disease, and vitamin D deficiency.
4 hours fasting. Water intake is acceptable.
