

The Microalbumin / Creatinine Ratio test measures the amount of protein (microalbumin) in your urine compared to creatinine, helping to assess kidney function and detect early signs of kidney damage. This simple lab test is essential for monitoring conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes.
1. Refrain from eating meat and doing strenuous physical activity 8-12hours before Urine Collection.
2. Avoid urine collection if the patient shows signs of urinary tract infection.
Note: The following medications may affect your test results. Please consult your doctor before having this test done:
1. Levodopa (Anti-Parkinson medication)
2. Alpha-methyldopa (antihypertensive)
3. Calcium dobesilate (e.g. Dexium) medication mainly used to improve blood vessel function
4. Dicynone / Etamsylate (anti-bleeding medication)
5. Acetaminophen (Paracetamol)
6. Metamizole (Novaminsulfone, Dipyrone) Pain reliever and fever reducer.
7.Acetylcysteine (antidote for poisoning and mucolytic)
