Breast Ultrasound is a non-invasive test that helps evaluate lumps, cysts, and other abnormalities in breast tissue. During the procedure, a gel is applied and a device called a transducer captures images to help distinguish between solid masses and fluid-filled cysts.
If patient is on her menstrual cycle, advise her that the best time to have a sonomammogram is 7 to 10 days after the 1st day of menstruation when the breasts are less tender. If patient can tolerate the pain, then she can proceed.
Bring previous ultrasound result for comparison.
