The 17-Hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) Test measures levels of a hormone produced by the adrenal glands and ovaries. It is primarily used to screen for and monitor congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a genetic disorder affecting hormone production.
This test may also be used to evaluate adrenal function or investigate symptoms such as early puberty, irregular periods, infertility, or other hormone-related concerns.
No patient preparation is required.
