BRCA2 screening is a genetic test that looks for mutations in the BRCA2 gene. Individuals with a BRCA2 mutation have an increased risk of developing breast, ovarian, prostate, and other cancers. The screening helps identify those at higher risk, allowing for earlier monitoring, preventive measures, or personalized treatment plans. It’s often recommended for individuals with a family history of these cancers.
The preferred sample is peripheral blood, which must be collected by a Lablog medical professional in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. If you're located outside Metro Manila, we will send you a test kit and conduct a live video tutorial to guide you step-by-step on how to properly collect a saliva sample. We’ll also provide instructions on how to handle and ship the sample back to our office for testing.
