Test Requirements

No patient preparation necessary.

Sputum collection:

Rinse mouth twice with water before collecting sputum sample.
Inhale deeply, cough vigorously, and expectorate the material into the container. Avoid spills or soiling the outside of the container.
Secure the lid on the collection container and then submit the container for checking of sample.

Note: The test is intended for patients who have not yet taken anti-TB medication or have taken it for less than three days in the past six months. if you are currently taking or have previously taken anti-TB medication, consult your doctor to determine whether testing is appropriate. Anti-TB therapy may affect the test results
